Quick hello from The Curioust — and a few reflections from recent learning events outside of Hong Kong, including Learning Technologies, IAF Conference, and Offbeat Fest 2026 in London & Birmingham.
One big shift I keep noticing is this: L&D is moving from content to capability. What matters more now is not just what people know, but what they can do — and sustain — in the real world.
In some cases, training is no longer the answer. Teams may need enablement, self-directed learning, or a different kind of support altogether. This feels like a useful reminder that development is bigger than delivery.
It also reinforces how The Curioust has evolved. We started in 2020 with soft skills training, and by 2025 we had clearly transitioned into an L&D partner for clients who want learning to lead somewhere meaningful.
Another theme that kept coming up: curiosity. Not just as a nice mindset, but as a capability organisations can nurture if they want people to adapt, ask better questions, and keep learning as work changes.
And that brings me to transfer. If learning is going to count, it has to show up beyond the room — in how people think, work, and collaborate. That’s exactly what we’ll explore in our 1 June taster session: Play Cards, Learn Transfer 🎴
If you’re curious about how learning can become more useful in practice — whether you’re in L&D, leading a team, or simply supporting people development in your organisation — I’d love to have you join us. RVSP link here - only few seats left!
