July felt like a pause between movements — a chance to catch our breath, reflect, and notice what had quietly taken root over the past few weeks. As we step into August, we wanted to share a few highlights from July, and the conversations that continue to shape our work.
Learning Transfer taster sessions: 1 June & 26 June
In June, we hosted two transfer taster sessions — one in-person and one virtual — and the reflections from those sessions continued to ripple through July.
Participants came from different backgrounds, but shared a common curiosity: how to make learning stick, and how to design for transfer in their own contexts. Some were exploring transfer for the first time; others were returning to the idea with fresh eyes.
What stayed with us was how transfer becomes richer when people experiment together, compare notes, and bring their own ingredients into the mix. It reminded us why we keep returning to this work.
Offbeat Sparks Hong Kong 2026: supporting organization
Offbeat Sparks has always been a space where L&D professionals meet to exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, and spark new possibilities.
This year, we’re especially excited to be part of a growing community of practitioners who are shaping the future of learning & development in Hong Kong and beyond.
Partnership with Lingnan University & Open Call for Speakers
One of the quiet threads in our work is how we partner with clients as an extended L&D team.
For some organizations, this looks like co-designing workshops and programmes. For others, it’s helping internal teams structure, facilitate, and sustain learning initiatives that might otherwise sit on a shelf.
A recent partner described it this way:

That, to us, is the heart of the work: enabling teams to move from one-off sessions to ongoing capability.
